RE: Don't Sleep on this Movie
Hmpff
Yes YEs It's now 3:18am in NY, and your truly has just come back from viewing Resident Evil. I went in to this movie with a lot of coaching from friends and a grain of salt, and came out My freind pointed it out best, the R rating would make the movie better-they wouldn't have to ut back on swearing an of course GORE and boy did I see some horrible deaths tonight....lol Imma die hard RE fan and for all those like me, when I found that the stpry was really re made from the previous game-I felt kkinda let down like "UhOH, here comes another Street Fighter movie!" But, even though the story stands alone from the game everything else is true to it-hard core gamers will spot em I won't give away stuff. But if anyones seen it yet, feel free to exchange how you felt about it! It wasn't the greatest movie ever made but hey, it beat my expectations! |

I don't know if I want to see RE movie. I hope it's better than average movies taken from videogames series. BTW, Milla Jovovich ain't too bad, so I'll probably give it a try.

I'm not interested in Resident Evil anymore. I tried to play Code Veronica a while back and I was all........"This is just like the others!" Same old gameplay, no matter how pretty you make it look. RE is earning it's place in the "games that just won't go away" hall of fame, right next to Street Fighter.

I had a lot of fun watching that movie last night. I thought it was awesome. I wish 007 could've come with us though.
A few of my friends, well, all of em there, tried to get me to do some really stupid stuff before the movie started, more like a pre movie entertainment thing. If 007 were there, we would've had a lot of fun with it.

I loved it, but there were a few things that they could've improved on. I'll let you decide though.

I might see it tomorrow or next weekend. But I'm a bit skeptic though because I've seen some low reviews on the movie online; like IGN gave it 1 1/2 stars out of 5.

I dunno why? Out of 5 stars I think I'll give it a *** 1/2 or maybe even a ****. When you go to the movie expecting a garbage piece of crap and instead you get something like that, it goes up the star rating a bit. I think everyone needs to judge the movie by their own standards. I know the theater I was in, after certain deaths, people where clapping and yelling cause of the way the scene played out. I feel you Sleazy P. Martini! I finished Veronica about 4 months ago and it was hard as hell. Hard only cause I had to be motivated to keep playing. Hope the Cube versions spice it up a bit! Anyways.....how many stars does everyone give it? |

really
hmmmm, I like how they spent it though. The graphics were pretty cool, the zombies, dogs, all looked pretty good. The sets were eerie and creepy, I jumped more than once and the whole musical score was done by Marilyn Manson and others. Hey did anyone notice all the hints to the game. Other than the stuff they said, there was so many things which only gamers would appreciate visually. Wish I could say what they were, maybe when enough people see it, we can talk about that. |

not to bad
well, the movie wasn't all that bad. Basically, If you're a gamer, you were'nt too let down. If you never played the games, you were pretty darn surprised. I think the movie was pretty darn good. You have to figure that not everyone who would go see this movie will have played the game, so making it exactly like the game would probably bring the ticket sales down. It would be a treat for the gamers, but if you make it too much like the game, then it wouldn't appeal to all other audiences and that would make the movie a flop at the box office. In my humble opinion, I believe you should watch the movie and try to imagine you never played the games. If you do this, you'll be very entertained, and might even throw a few more stars it's way, and as a gamer, if you chalk up the changes made to the story to hollywood trying to make it more appealing to a bigger audience, then you'll have fun at the movie.
heh heh heh, lookit me, I'm like roger ebert over here...... |
