Basilisk along with Gunslinger Girl will be coming on IFC sometime soon. (More than likely in the fall.) But I've been trying to get some feedback on what the 2 programs are like, but I never could find anything. I'm interested in Basilisk because it suppose to be a ninja type anime.

So if anyone has ever seen these animes, what are they like, how is the action, and perhaps a brief synopsis if you don't mind?

Gunslinger Girl is great. It's about girls around the age of 10 or so that are saved from life-threatening situations by a secret government agency, who then replace damaged body parts and such with cybernetic parts. Then they train them to be assasins. It's a pretty serious anime and showcases the relationships they have with their partners. When there's action, it's done well. The animation is top notch as well. It can be a bit sad and depressing at times though, but that makes the series even better, in my opinion.
