Question Pessimistic or Optimistic?

Are you a pessimistic or optimistic person? It seem pessimistic persons like to tell the whle world they think in a negative way, so they seem to be a larger number

I think many pessimistic persons are very selfish when it comes to express their personal point of view on everything, and they also usually don't seem to listen much to positive persons.
At least that's what I found from personal experieces...

Angry

I think I'm a bit of both. There have been certain events and experiences in my life in which I just see no good that shall come of them. I end up thinking the worse of the worst. However, there have also been some rough times in which I try and find the possitive side. I admit that trying to be optimistic in hard times is more difficult; for me anyway.
You're right Fortune. Some pessimistic people can be very selfish indeed. However, we as people don't always know the reason as
to why they are so. In many occasions, it doesn't necessarily mean that they are arrogant or self centric. It may be that they just might not have anything to look forward to.

Very true, very true. As for me, I am pretty much more pessimistic than optimistic, though I try to look at the brighter things in life. I have my reasons...

You're right: not every pessimistic person is arrogant. In fact I'm not, at least I don't think so. But I admit I'm very selfish and this makes me blind. I feel really ashamed sometimes for my behaviour, but there's nothing I can really do about it. I have many bad, and I mean BAD, faults, including selfishness and negativeness. But I don't think you can change only because you want to. There are some factors in your life that make you change, but I'm really doubtful about the possibility of changnig faults into qualities only with intentions.

I'm incredibly selfish too, and I know it. When I have a bad day (which is like....everyday) I feel like I'm the only one in the entire world who is going through what I'm going through. But later on, when I calm down, I realize how selfish I was and then I feel bad. I'm beginning to try not to be like that. Whenever I feel like I have a bad day or I wasn't able to get an item I want, I just think about all the different people in the world, living in poverty and so on. Then, I yell at myself, and I feel better.

Not because we're all greedy, but because it's so typical, at least for less mature people, to feel always the need of looking for satisfaction in the things you don't have.

I have a very pessimistic persona but I show a lot of optimism around people who I want to ummm be with. I'm not sure if this makes sence, but I can be optimistical at times and pessimistical at others.

I'm honest: I'm mostly an optimistic person, also when things are getting worse.

I'm both, pessimistic and optimistic. I don't feel like I'm cursed by events, but sometimes I feel low, as anyone else does (apart from Hylas...).

I try to be optimistic. I don't want to be always a person who thinks that things a going to go wrong or things like that. Besides, with my luck, I need to be positive or I'll just sit back and get left behind.

I don't get too optimistic though that I'll be devestated after being let down.

Like before I dont really know what I am but I would have to agree with Mourdor on that one about being positive and all

Less pessimistic than cynical and parinoid, I think. Or, as many people have said "a little bit of both". ^_^

I'm cautious and usually sarcastic about many situations I'm new to, but when something good comes along I usually go headlong into it. IE, pessimistic when it comes to people I don't know and situations I'm not comfortable with, but optomistic about people and things I'm used to.

Good example is the recent change in a game I play called "BattleTech". It was taken over by Wizkids, and the classic version has been scrapped, replaced in favor of the system of another game Wizkids makes called Mage Knight. I'm optomistic about the game because I know the Mage Knight system, optomistic about the fiction to go with it because one of my favorite authors is coming back to the fold, but the actual figures.. well, they look like crap, so I'm quite pessimistic about that. I voice my opinions on forums, and have been called arrogant.. So, eh. Idunno.

Lightbulb I Dont Know!

I Am Optimistic, U Have To Be. But I Mostly Leave Everything To "Him", Cause Whatever Is Happening Is Because Of Him, He'll Always Think The Best For Me And For U And For Everyone.

I Really Dont Like Pessimistic People, THe Negative Thoughts And Blaming And All. U Really Shouldn't, There Is Way Too Much Power In Positive Thinking.

U Have To Have Confidence In Ureself, Otherwise Even Ure Own Blood Wont Count On U!.!

I'm a very pessimisrtic person. Probally the worst one I know, right next to my friend SSSnake. We see the world as a black hole, always sinking further and further down, with no possibility of ever getting out. Things just always go wrong for us, and we never seem to get the feeling that out glass of life is half full, it's always the half empty thing for us.

personally i hardly ever get depressed about a problem i tend to cut out the **** of feeling sorry for myself but i also try never to be to optimistic hope leads often to disappointment (hope also increases happiness when things turn out good) ect and pride comes before a fall. so i try my best not to be over confident either, i try to be reallistic. nut i suppose if circumstances were different i would be a diffent peson but i suppose i am just lucky that i rarely get many bad things happen to be (hopefully im not sounding smug). As some one else said you should do the best with what you KNOW you have got, and not count your chickens before they have hatched or make youself believe you have less than you truely do.
in other words i try to be realistic.
