Hey guys, ![]() I need a little help again. ![]() On December 1st, I have to do a presentation. The presentation involves me presenting [...] "something" by means of demonstration. What I mean is, say I were to do a presentation on "How to make a PB&J sandwhich." What I would have to do is simply explain all the steps involved in preparing a PB&J sandwhich. Sounds simple enough, no? Well, yeah, I guess it is. The problem I have is that I don't know what to present! I mean, now that I think of it, I don't think I have any special skills like that! I mean I can't, like, do origami, cook cool and yummie foods, drive mobiles in special ways... nothing. ![]() So this is where I need your help: Do you guys have a special skill that you can tell me/us about? For example, since there are many people here from outside the U$, I'm sure that there are some "specialty" dishes from where you live. Or maybe there a cool PC trick that you call tell about. I don't know. Anything will do. All I need is something and then I will proceed to practicing, so that come Dec. 1st, I will be an "expert" at it .But really, I really need your help! Anything you know how to do is fine... cause chances are I can't do 'em. Aha. Thanks in advance! |

Here Mena, do the origami thing...it's incredibly easy...I did it for my Speech class when I was in high school...
I recommend you go out and buy a "How-To-Do-Origami" book because this is the fastest and easiest way to learn the steps rather than me telling you, without you visualizing it. Create the "Crane." This is the simplest origami to make and the basic one everyone learns. Does your presentation have a time limit? If so, I would suggest you go through the steps slowly and detailed...plus, the time it takes to fold the paper will help out too. Let me know if you can get a book on this...if not, I'll show you the steps, but I'm sure my pictures won't be as clear as the photos in a real book.

Maybe if you got a friend who plays guitar you can get him to learn you how to change and tune a guitar string?

I remember I had to do something similiar to that. I made mine a comedy of course.
"HOW NOT TO MAKE POP TARTS" It basically was me being like one of those 50's "how to" guides with two of my friends doing the acting. We had the class and the teacher just cracking up cause of the stupid things that we did. Such as, 1. Using scissors to open the box. 2. Putting the pop tart in a toaster and then the toaster was then put into a microwave. I think the origami would be a good idea actually. If possible, try and make some more difficult and extravagant ones ahead of time and use them as props while you show them how to make a crane or flower.

I know this is really lame but i'm tryin to add my part. Show them how to learn to type really really fast, or then again you could always practice dissasembling them re-assembling something...i tried.

yes mena, the orgami presentation would be most interesting. I just happen to be one of the five world reknown oragami masters myself
, yet i cannot divulge any of my guilds secrets. The "how-to" book is a step in the right direction though for a newbie. Or perhaps you can go into detail and describe the multiple steps involved with bullying people online with various taunts such as "heifer"..etc.

Thanks for the replies, everyone.
![]() Yeah, I had thought about the origami thing for a while, but I'm not too sure. For one, there are two "problems" with it: My hands are incredibly not nimble. It feels like my hands are gigantic. And two: in order to do okay, since... I inanely signed up for the last presentation, I would have to do something and hand some out to the class. Like say if I made these, it would mean that I would have to do some beforehand to give to the class. Why? Well, since everyone has already done theirs, I can't go up with a crappy presentation and get a good grade, you know? And trust me, I am in serious need of a good grade! ![]() That's why I was thinking about food. Maybe a dish that's not "ordinary" (like sadnwhiches!) and then hand some out. Hmm. Maybe I could do the origami figures, though. And make plenty... and "decorate" them. But... maybe that would be too much work. *sigh* *mena thinks EDIT: Oh, origami master, I humbly ask you to help thee... unless you want me to bake your bald head.

If you don't have to give something to the entire class, then I would make the crane then show them an extra tip with the crane. After making it, you can explain how to hang the cranes, like a mobile or hanging it somewhere, like the rearview mirror of a car. Just take a paperclip, straighten it, then poke a hole through the bottom of the crane out to the top of the back (the puffy part), then insert a long string and you can hang it anywhere. I seriously doubt that you have gigantic hands that can't handle this. People who usually tend to have a rough exterior or appearance are the ones who sometimes handle delicate or fine things with upmost care. I'm sure you can do it and it doesn't take a long time at all...once you know the pattern by memory, you'll be whizzing by. Quote:

If you find out that you really can't get a grip on the whole Origami thing as I know it can be kinda puzzlin to some then I would advise making Paper Aeroplanes.. I know it sounds kinda dumb but my mate just had to do a real similar thing for teaching... she had to present something..anything ..just to show she can instruct a class sorta thing.. she was gonna make a cocktail but ended up making paper planes coz someone who had already done it and said it worked for them... anyways its not as simple as it sounds.. you can make all different types...theres even one that if u make it right when it flies it's wings flap.. theres sites online that you can print out diagrams and stuff.. she got the observers to make some simple ones and she made the wing flapper.. it was actually really cool when she was telling me about it.. I even learnt some new stuff!
Anyways go with the Origami if you find it easy to do but as a last resort you can choose this! lol ![]() Piggle ![]() x x x x

You can teach the class how to beat The End in Metal Gear Solid 3 in under 10 minutes...
