Something to think about.
I used this idea for a paper i wrote for my final university assignment. The class was called Reading and Diagnostics in the classrom. This is only the beginning of the idea, but just read it and think about it.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Different words have different meaning depending how the sentence is written. By taking two different words with multiple meanings and placing them in two separate sentence we can establish two different meanings. Lets look at three different examples. I ran to the store. My coat had part of a button missing The cook used a special rag to siphon out the pulp. By simply placing a word in front or behind a bolded words we can change the meanings of the words. We can also simply change the position of the words throughout the sentences. If we look the first example using the words ran and store, I can simply change the wording of the sentence to come up with 2 new meanings for those words. We had to store the boxes in the kitchen cause we ran out of room. The same can be said for the next two sentences. I had to put a second coat of paint on part of the wall. I had to rag on my girlfriend because she can not cook hotdogs. This is why it is difficult for some students to read. Different words have different meanings. In some cases the word could be referring to a person or to the act of doing something, like COOK. In other cases a word could be referring to an act of doing something or refer to an object, like RAG. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++ Lets just say the idea was presented infront of the class. The final exam was going to based on this introduction to my final paper. Luckily for me since it was my idea, i didnt have to write the final and got an automatic A+.

That's so weird, I was having a discussion about this type of thing with my sis the other day.
I am sometimes amazed that we learn to speak our language so quickly as a child. Like in french when you have the masculine and feminine variations like; il and ille, el and elle. I wonder how people learn a second language. One is hard enough! I can understand why you got an A+ jj, It was a very good subject of discussion. Well Done. ![]() Piggle ![]() x x x x

Two words to make you look even more swotty:
Semantics "The Study of Word Meanings" e.g. 'in the slogan "cats like felix, like felix" the author's plays on the semantic similarity in "like"' Lexis "another term for vocabulary", or simply as substitute for "words". e.g. "The author's choice of lexis particuarlly emphasises the severity of Mr Jones' Carrot stabing incident". Just two words I learnt in English Language. It's almost like 25% of the course is learning intelligent sounding words.. sorry "lexis" to replace all your old ones. And a "new word" is a "neologism"

JJ, nice work. If only my college classes were like that. It'd be so easy for me to get an A.
