FINALLY !!!!! New Computer !
I just got a new computer from a local rental center. Ive been wanting one for ages being that my old one was on life support and rarely went half a day without crashing. Anyway the new one will cost me a fortune. It will be 2,000 american dollars over 3 months and 4,000 if I dont pay it off sooner than latest. I plan on paying 2,000 $.
Anyway I got a brand new Compaq with a 2.7 GHz processor, 512 DDR SDRAM memmory, a 120 GB Ultra DMA hard drive, a DVD drive and a CD-RW drive, and a 17" Flatscreen LCD monitor. I know this isnt big news for everyone, but its MAJOR to me. I thought id be stuck with that hunk of crap PC I had 4ever. And btw, are there any really cool features that XP has that I didnt have with Windows 98, I havent used Xp much at all ?

None that I can see, we've had a PC with XP for months now. I guess the organization of the windows on the bar at the bottom is better. Instead of putting a new window at the end of the list if it's the same type of window as another it's grouped with that. Other than that, I have no idea.

As for OSs, i've always prefered Windows 2000. It's pretty stable, being able to recover from most program crashes without locking up. Shame about the "saving settings" problems you get after a very long period on the comp (sometimes, it takes a minute to shutdown, which is real pain in the arse when you shutdown in order to get out of the house real quick). I've not used XP much, but theres somthing about the Teletubby colour scheme and menus which prejudices me against it

Well my mom is getting a new one. Hers is twice as old as mine. Mine still works fine. I treat with TLC . It could be that I have more RAM. Boy was that a waste of money....
