HP: Who will die??

Man thats a tough one. Im not ultra familiar with Harry Potter but I did see the movies, so I know the characters somewhat. So heres a slightly educated and complete GUESS

I only read one harry potter book before and so I didnt buy this book becuase I would'nt know the plot, but I say Sirius Black.

Hmmm... it is a very hard thing to decide...i am currently on chapter 21 now... at least i think.. and i cant really pick up on any foreshadowing that would illude to who she is going to kill off....
I cant stop reading i really want to know...
I said albus dumbledore only because i think Rowling said that this death was hard for her to write and stuff... plus i think it would add a whole new spin for the last two books.. how would they fight Voldemort w/out him and who will lead the Order and stuff... hmm... I just dont know

On a side note.. where is everyone else in the book... What do you think so far? i love it... i am so into this book that while i am at work i dont even eat on my lunch break.. i just read!!

I think it's gonna be him altho I'm only 12 chapters in so far....so my opinion may change!
He seems like an obvious choice, sweet, lovable, which explains the upsetting bit of writing it but also not that big a loss to the stories, so easy to kill off!

Well I may be wrong!

I can't say who, but from the things I I've read around, it must be an important character, so I wouldn't say someone like Fred or George Weasley, or Neville or similar characters. I don't know, I don't even have a copy of the book for now

Having just read books 3 and 4, then the first 200 pages of the 5th in 1 week, I kind of noticed some patterns. Personally, I think it's going to be either {Harry's Godfather} or Neville. For {Harry's Godfather} , I feel that his relative uselessness at the begining of the book will lead to somthing later. As for Neville, I really feel that Rowling has been setting him up as a truely tragic figure (due to what happened to his parents). I think that his death would be very sad, as a sort of "mercy killing", but with a sense of tradgedy in that he's so innocent, yet harshly treated by the world. (on the counter argument though, this could be just a ploy to set him up as a true hero later in the series.)

Btw, I do think that its hard to avoid a massive spoiler here already. Having read some predictions of who will die, I totally ruined the whole point of the 3rd book. Hence why

is refered to as "{Harry's Godfather}"

and i'm at the beginning of chapter twelve: "Professor Umbridge". I managed to read all 200 pages precedding that in the same day

Finally, I couldn't ever see it as being Malfoy. Unless sometime between page 200 and the end of the book he becomes the kind of character J.K. would cry about after killing off (as she said in a televised interview with Jeremy Paxman - all non BBC watchers probably wouldn't have seen this). It's unlikely to be Harry either is it... I mean, it would be a bit strange to write the 2 remaining "Harry Potter" books if Harry was dead. Unless he was Undead or somthing ^_^ "Rrrraaggghh, Harry no like the light or Holy Water!!"

I am on chapter 31: O.W.L.S. And there is still no clue in my mind of who will die!! But the book is been great so far and there are only 7 chapters left!! Man.. i cant wait to finish this... i will prolly read it over right away!

Edit: Well it now close to 4am and i have finished... I know who dies and will tell no one

The book is over all really good.. I just want more now! I think tommorow i am gonna either start from the beggining of the series again or just read this one over again.. i am not sure yet... Damn this book, it consumes me whole!

I've read all the books so far, and I just finished OftP today. Took about a total of 6 hours altogether, definately the best book so far, and probably my #1 book of all time, it was a great read. But to stay on topic..I can't, because I know, so I'll throw everyone off and say Dobby the Houseelf

Hence why Spoiler: show Sirius Black is refered to as "{Harry's Godfather}" Spoiler: show why? because you learn that "Sirius Black" is after Harry right at the beginning of Book 3.
