Unhappy Worst day ever

I think I'm cursed to be unlucky. Today I have to turn in my major research paper for my English 102 class. My professor said that any attempt to turn it in late will result in failure of the class regardless of what grade you may have. I only had a little bit of info to add to my paper to finish it off. Up untill last night I typed my entire paper out on the computers at my campus. They all use Microsoft Word. So last night when I got back from work I thought I should finish up the rest of my paper so I could relax before class tomorrow. My home PC uses Microsoft Works which can't read documents from Microsoft Word. Well anyways I tried to open up my paper like a fool, and somehow(the unlucky part) my paper was taken off of my disk. When I try to search for my paper on my computer it comes up saying that my paper isn't a word document but a shortcut. Then I figured I could just go to my schools computers and hopefully salvage the paper, but not with my luck......now everytime I try to even look at the contents on my floppy it says that it's not formatted or formatted for a mac So I'm pretty upset considering that there's no way for me to hand in my paper today. Of all the times for this to happen (the night before the paper is due)

Anyone else have a bad day experiance they'd like to share?

Even though situations like that do suck really bad, there are many worse things that could happen than that. Don't be so upset about it :B

Ahem, back on topic: I'm sorry that happened to you, Azuma. That really... well, sucks.
Isn't there any way you can explain that to you teacher ?
In anycase, I hope it somehow works out for ya.

I had a similar bad experience not too long ago. Not long ago at all.
Basically, everyone in our grade has to turn in this history research paper [I think it goes for the whole state... some standard crap] and for us, it was worth a good 50% of our last quarter grade.
I was there on the day they explained it to us, but I was absent for quite a while afterwards, and as a result, lost a lot of time and points [since it's a chronological sequence paper, every step has to be done and turned in on the due date to accumulate your ultimate points]. I tried to make it up anyway and I finished. BUT, on the due date, I couldn't go to school because I was just very, very sick. There's no one from school that lives near my area, so there was no one I could ask to turn it in for me. Yep...
So, I failed that

Bah.

Ive been fortunate, mostly, but can certainly relate with you, Azuma. I remember last fall driving home from having dinner at my folks with thoughts of bliss or something running through my head and out of the blue i look up and i had run into somebody who was parked at a stop sign. I remember it was the night that Frozen had posted on being dissed by some chick and he was in a major bad mood. Well my bliss went to piss, so i can certainly understand what anyone else is going through. And from what ive seen of the economy where i live, life isnt too blissful for many...

The same thing happened to me! I was working with Works and I put it on a zip disk and a floppy and brought it home but I have word. So it messed it up. But my teacher was understanding and I turned it in 2 days late but she didn't take any points off. She was a b***h most of the year but it had to of been because she was my first period class.

My research paper was on the Spanish Armada. I'm a history buff so it was easy for me to retype

Well thankfully my prof. understood my situation. He said I could hand in my rough draft and annotative bibliography, get some points and not fail the class. I think with my current luck that's the best thing that could've happened.

i know a lot of things could've been worse than that but just put yourself in my shoes if something like that happened to you wouldn't you be pissed off? I'm not saying it's the worst thing that could've happened but it did suck. Off all the times for things to go wrong it happens the night before it's due

Recently I had a disk not work on me and then getting the message it was unformatted. It turns out there was a part on the edge of the disk that was darker than the rest and the whole section looked like it was all ripped off.

ANyway, the worst day I've had is when I moved and didn't tell someone I was moving. I know I've mentioned this a lot.

I got a speeding ticket on the way to school this morning. Thing was, the cop was being a real a$$hole about it. Imagine, in the most Texan accent you can think of, "Now, I'm going to tell you what's going to happen. I'm going to give you a citation for speeding..." All the while I was imagining grabbing him by the arm, knocking his head into the car door, breaking his elbow, etc. (My, I'm a violent person)

And then he marked me down as Asian. Haven't checked in the last five minutes, but I'm fairly certain I'm not Asian.
Maybe there's a loop hole in that...

LMAO... dude that sux major ass.... I just paid a speeding tick..110 dollars... I was pretty angry.... butg i would have to say the worst day in my life (so far) would be the day that i lost a very good friend.
I had this friend who happened to be a girl and we were pretty much inseperable and like an ******* i fell for her and being the fool that i am told her how i felt.... Not only did she not want a date... she told me she didnt ever want to talk to me again or be my friend. I know i sound like a sap, but i was so damn depressed and suicidal... Had to be my worst day ever... but i am working at it

Oh man, I'm sorry that happened to you Azuma, but I'm glad your professor was understanding about it. Something like that happened to me a while back, except it was probably my fault. I thought I had saved my paper on my disk, but then it so happened that when I quit and went home to finish it up, it was all gone. I didn't really make a rough draft 'cause I'm the type that just put info together as I type, so I had to redo all of what I did. Taught me a lesson....

That wasn't the worst day ever though...I've had plenty others, but none of which I'd like to share.

Unhappy my luck contiues........

It appears my other disk with my final VB project on it is messed up because none of the files are on there anymore..........it's like they just vanished. So now i have to do that all over again. The worst part about that is the final project is built off of project #2 that we had.........so now i have to do make that program before i can add my final too it..............if you ever see me in real life you'd be able to pick me out......i'm the one with the rain cloud over his head

I know its hard to believe, Azuma, but many, if not all, of us have had rain clouds over our heads at one time or another. Its what you do to remove it (them) that makes the difference in your life. Its worth doing it, and believe me, they are never too far behind, either, always waiting to catch up with you!
