I'm in the temple of stolen faith, I got yojimbo but I don't know how to use it, it says I have to pay for every move he makes. Is there any other way to make him work?

it really doesn't take alot of money for Yojimbo to work. I give him like 45 and he wipes out everything.

he isn't. Dark Yojimbo is a boss only available in the European and Japanese (International) versions of FFX, and is one of the "dark aeons" that are found all over the place.

I think I got him for just under 200,000gil, but its been a while... one walkthrough claims "You have to pay him at least 203,000 gil", but i'm pretty certain I was suprised to able to pay less than that for him.

You only have to give yojimbo 1 gil and he will attack. He does good damage even if you give him 1 gil.

i know, i beat sin like that, i only gave him 1 gil and he did like 8798 damage, he killed left fin, but i had already weakend him

That Yojimbo is kinda weird, actually. Some times I give him just 1 gil, and he uses Wakizashi, some other times I give him 300 and Daigoro attacks instead. And the otehr day I paid him all of my freaking money and the bastard made Daigoro attack as well (I don't remember the amount but I know it was hundreds of thousands, if not millions)

and I have never actually seen his most powerful technique either.

but anyways, if it's just Daigoro, the damage will always be at least 9999

I never figured out why they made it so that he can do so much damage for a gil. I gave him over 5 million, and he did just 9999, but 1 gil will give you 5000-8000 no problem. oh yeah, to get him cheap, you have to bid half of what he asks, plus 1 gil, so 200,000 offer 100,001.

I hope they don't make another summon like Yojimbo in the future.

Yeah, really. And if they did, they should try to make it a little more realistic. You should have to pay a minimum amount for the moves, and you dont get the stronger moves unless you pay him a certain amount. If you could pay him a million gil and he did as much damage as anima in overdrive, it would make a LOT more sense, but they made it a totally randomized system. Oh well, I never summon him anyway....

actually, yojimbo works on a "affection" system... ie, the more you insult him by paying him pissy ammounts of gil, the less likely hes gonna do "Zanmato" - the rarest attack in the game, and by extension the most powerful (think Selphie's "The End" attack - instant death to everybody, including the biggest bosses.) Those who don't feel complete without getting a good yawn in each day can read this faq

makes sense, but the system still sucks if you ask me. If you piss him off with low gil, he should do 1 damage or just dismiss himself and say something like "summon me when you actually feel like paying"
