ooohh trivia ^_^ Beatrix kind of has two themes...
"The Sword of Doubt" / "Mystery Sword" is the beatrix battle theme, and the out of battle theme is "Rose of May" / "Loss of me" (thats two and not four songs btw... I just have trouble distinguishing between the English and Jap names for them )

Awww! A very fast reply!
I asked because I couldn't understand what was her theme for the reason you mentioned: the double titles. I didn't know the titles were different from Japanese to English version!
I had a very hard time trying to figure why some soundtracks had different song titles in them!

You could also associate "Something to Protect" with her aswell, unless Artist mentioned that above under a different name.

Final Fantasy 9 has a brilliant soundtrack doesnt it , a vast improvement on FF8.

yeah... "something to protect" / "those whom we must protect" could be counted as another Beatrix theme... but its nicer to think of as a Steiner / Beatrix theme...

I'm not totally sure why they mess the titles up in these ways... but its awful similar to Translation of character names (Terra / Tina) or the actual lyrics of some of the theme songs (Melodies of Life is really different in the original Japanese.)

As for FF9's soundtrack... I'd say its only bettered by FFVI's. There are some excellent and memorable themes, that just edge out FFVII and FFIV. oh and yes. The FF8 soundtrack was pretty awful, bar the Boss themes and Liberi Fatali.

Ah yes FFVI was such an exellent ost so many memorable tracks. Dont get me wrong FFVII had some great tracks aswell including the best character theme perhaps in Aeris, but not every track was great like that in FFVI. FFIX was also great I managed to pick up a copy of this in my local import store and enjoy listening to it every day (gets me ready to start the day) tracks off the top of my head like "Freyas theme" and "Your not alone".

I dont consider FFX a traditional ost as Nobuo Uematsu didnt really compose enough of the tracks although even the ones he didnt turned out exellent. Memorable tracks for me include "Sir Aurons theme" and the fianl Seymour battle and who could forget the "At Zanarkand" track. With that though I think they made a right hash of the Prelude and the chocobo theme.
