“Charles”
…As the rain beat down on Charles’ rough face, he was reminded of a similar night, long ago…
It was the fall of 1991, and it was raining down the side of the car like sheets of glass. The entire front lawn had been turned into a muddy mess. It was Kalis tenth birthday (Charles’ little sister) and she was driving Charles crazy. Their father Jason had left them in the car after they had fallen asleep on the way home from the amusement park, and Kali was going crazy, thinking Jason had left them.
Charles finally decided to get out of the car and Kali followed. Thinking it would be funny, Kali kicked mud all over Charles new pants. Like the snapping of a dry twig, so did Charles sanity. He turned and with a yell, lunged at Kali, tackling her to the ground, sliding while on top of her. He turned her over and shoved her face into the mud, suffocating her quickly, due to the fact of the fluids going in her lungs as she tried to breathe. Suddenly Charles felt Kali go limp in his arms. Realizing what he had done, he ran inside in horror.
Jason was in the chair next to the fire, holding an iron prodding rod with a white-knuckled grip. As soon as Charles attempted to speak, Jason jumped up and struck Charles over the head repeatedly as if he was swatting a fly. Having seen the fight through a window, Mrs. Jones had called the cops. As Jason was about to kill Charles the police burst through the door, and shot Jason five times in the chest and once in the head. Seeing that he was in definite trouble, Charles immeadiatly blamed Jason for killing Kali…
A car passed him by splashing the now hole infested jeans that he still wore from all those years ago.
“Plate number AZO P68. “ Said Charles in a non-emotional vioice, planning his next murder by a random act of unkindness.
