Do you know the feeling of registering anywhere and before you can complete the process you see that your usual name is taken?

What do you do?

I think in general there are few different reactions:[list=1][*]You choose another name, using numbers and symbols[*]You try several names and seeing none is avalable you give up[*]You get pissed and start yelling at the ones who got them [*]You just don't mind because you don't have a usual name[/list=1]

Well, last time I assumed that "Reid" would be taken so I made it "Reid01", but this time I got what I wanted.



I like having my real first name as a handle. It makes things easier to remember.

Ha, ha! I hate it when that happens. Recently, I registered to this online 24 hours radio where they play everything, from Rock to International music (like J-Rock/J-Pop) and I wanted to use the name "JRocker". But when I tried it....a message came up saying that name was taken. I was so pissed! But, then I changed it to "JRockess" so now it's cool.

here I had no problem getting the name that I want, but on other sites the name that I want 007_JamesBond is sometimes taken so I must find another one which gets me angry but I then just pick another one that suits my interests

Whenever I want a new name on aol (which is very hard to do) I usually just come up with new spellings or something like that.

I've never had anyone use my name before, so I don't know what I'd do.

my name was taken sometimes
for example in DII spiritslayer was taken so I used spiritslayer99
then they got it deleted so I could take that back. Of course Spirit will always be taken but I think its never taken on normal small places =P

hehe, my name isnt usually taken. I havent registered in any other forums that already have another hadoken.
But for things other than forums, if the name hadoken is already taken, i can always use HadokenX, which is barely ever taken.

I've never had a problem with my names which I use been taken.
I always find that Soul Angel (the name I usually use) is usually isn't taken
But if it ever was then I'll probably use a different name instead

My name usually isn't taken, 'cept on AIM.

Since I used the clan name of an RP chat character for this though, I just used another one for AIM. (though I'm plotting against the person who took BlackThornn... they will pay, oh yes... they will pay......)

When the name is taken I get very angry with the ones who took it and who are probably not using it! This happens most of the time 'cause there are many idiots around who like to register a name and then forget about it!

Hylas is right: many of the persons who register names around don't really use them, or they have multiple accounts.

I always have difficulties to get a name I like for this reason and adding numbers is not really my thing...

I don't like numbers either. And I need a name that I'll be sure to like for as long as I'm using it.

Originally, I hated my name "Cannibal Clown2001" but I wasn't really planning on using it for very long, considering I got banned while I was "Flatliner Clownboy2001" for spamming. I figured I'd be gone in a week. But I guess I redeemed myself, and I stayed here. But was still stuck with the Cannibal name that I hated. But I had soo many posts, that I didn't want to start a new account, and be forced to start all over again. So I stayed with it.

Then when the forums crashed, I kept the name, without the 2001 thing at the end of it, because this is who I was known as, and the name kinda grew on me.

Oh well, that's my story.
