FFX-2 - time to play ^_^
Who has it already?
I know there are quite a few threads regarding this, but they're all regarding speculations of the game. Now that it's out, any comments on the game? Btw, I got it a few hours ago. *goes to play* |

I have it, but I haven't opened it from the packaging yet. It came to my office today, and I never opened it. I came back home, and completely forgot I even had it, lol. It's almost 4 AM in NYC right now, so I'll just open it tomorrow, if I can remember.

I just bought it today and played the first hour of it.
It seems pretty promising at this point and managed to make me excited about where it's going although I really wasn't terribly convinced judging from reviews before I bought it. The feel is pretty different from other games in the series and has a much more campy and light feel to it and even made me laugh a few times. I'll give some more impressions once I'm a bit deeper in but so far I could recommend it. |

Hmm... something keeps coming up. I wanted to open it today, but my fiance reminded me that Thanksgiving is coming up in 6 days... and that we're eating dinner at her family's house. I really like to delve into an RPG, so I will take my sweet time with this game, which makes it difficult for me to completely enjoy the game in a period of 6 days. After Turkey day though... I'm going to be all over this game.

I almost forgot about that game, wish I had it. But with me finally getting FFT and currently playing FFXI, I'll be busy for a long while. We'll probably get it for christmas.

Feeling mixed thoughts of grief and Anger.
Well even though i really want to get FFX-2, i am wanting other games at the moment so i think that one will have to wait..I AM JUST PISSED OFF, about the damn release schedules.. i mean im not gonna get it here until bloody feburary!! and with MGS3, u will b talking about it and ill be sitting here going dammit! 3 more months til release date! I am just very pissed!
OFF TOPIC: Man it was funny! the other night i had a dream i met Hideo (Kojjima) and he was at my house..lol dream on Tom! And i helped him plan MGS4 and i got a free copy of MGS3 B4 anyone else!! haha and then i went and lived with his family in Japan! Look! this is what happens when you have serious withdrawl sydrome and you dream of having an equal release schedule to the rest of the world! i mean, i want an equal release schedule as much as world peace, yet more dammit! But living with Kojjima, coolness. And i woke up and yelled kojjima according to my mum who waas thinking i was crazy yelling some weird Japanese Name as i woke..it got her thinking...

I bought FFX-2 the same day it came out. I am in chapter 3 right now and so far its pretty good. I have no complaints except the fact there is no overdrives like FFX but I've gotten used to it. I'd certainly recommend it. And in my opinion its alot better then FFX. But thats what I think

Nah
I don't like it.
I'm in the 3rd mission, I think - I don't even know. So far, playing this game is turning out to be a real pain. The battle system is somewhat okay. This "new" innovated systems allows for what looks like "team combos" since it's all so fast, it looks like they attack together. I do like the speed, a little, since it gives the gave some taste, but that reall is all that I find good in the game. The job class concept is good, but imo, is poorly executed in this game. You know... before you had to reach a certain level or aquire certain items to change class, and here you can change to any given class, as long as you have the corresponding dres sphere. That idea is okay, but man, having to change classes during a battle is SO annoying! Ugh. It's even more annoying than those overly long summon cinematics of FFX. The voice acting is a little better than 10, but it still doesn't do its justice, I don't think. And besides, Brother is terribly annoying >.<; Where'd the world map go? Yep, so far those are the thing I dislike about the game. Maybe they'll change later on. |

mixed reactions..i can't even make up my mind on if i should get it.
the ffx-2 board at gamefaqs seems to be very active though, and i really don't want to only own half the story..ya know? That's like getting up half way thru a movie and leaving.. okay, i know what i'll do..i think i'll just beat someone up and take their copy from them.

Renting it from a video store for an extended time would work too if you want to see what its like before buying it. No need to swipe it from a helpless child lol Even though it would be funny

I'll be renting the game tomorrow. I'll most likely end up buying it now matter how bad (or good) it is. My ps2 has been out on loan for a month. My X-Box for 2 months. I've only had my Cube to play. I've cried myself to sleep every night.
Check this out: https://www.play-asia.com/paOS-1a-78-...w-91--77-1.jpg ULTIMATE ACCESSORY Possibly the coolest looking controller since Steel Battalion. This however doesn't way a ton. It does cost a ton though. It’s normally about $110. But the only place I've seen them on sale is on Ebay for $200-$400. Which is a really big waste since I read they only work with Final Fantasy X-2. Which I don't understand why that would be.

I got the game last Saturday and am still currently going through Chapter 1, having clocked in about 8 hours so far. I'm really taking my time with it though, with most of the side missions being pretty enjoyable. As for the light-hearted take on the story, I think it is quite refreshing for the series, and most of the humor can be appreciated.
With the faster-paced battle system in place, I enjoy it a little bit more than the one used in FFX. It's fun to try and chain everyone's attacks together for greater damage and changing jobs on-the-fly mixes up the strategy and techniques used in battle. The job transformations are pretty to watch, but they do get annoying after awhile; but since the animation can be shortened in the Config menu, problem solved. And since there is a great variety of different dresspheres to obtain, even the coveted "special" dresspheres, the battle system looks to keep fresh for a long time to come. Things I'm disappointed with so far: Paine's voice is too dull, even if its meant for her personality; and Sphere Break- eh, not too excited about it. Maybe not better than FFX, but certainly a very good game in its own right. |

I find the game to be somewhat enjoyable so far (I'm at the start of chapter 3) The story seems to finally be taking off. Which could be about magical tortoises for all I care because anything is better then having to run around looking for dresspheres as 2 girls who seem to be on ecstasy and another who seems to be stoned (Just look at Paines eyes). The voice acting is ok. Better if you are talking about clarity and how well it sounds. But worse because of some of the things they say.
I do like the quicker pace of the battles (You can make the battles go slower or faster) But I really hate the class system. It doesn't feel rewarding in any way. In every battle except the boss battles (And even some of those) all you have to do is hold down the x button. Magic seems like a lost art and having no limit breaks sucks. Gil is worthless. You get a lot of items from battles and just about every accessory that can be purchased you already have from a fight. Sphere Break is the worst mini game I have ever played in an RPG. Those dreadful meaningless card games from VIII and IX look like great games compared to this. Even with those complaints I still think the game is good. Maybe it's because I just got my ps2 back. Though I will say it's the worst Final Fantasy I have played that was made for the psx and ps2.

YAY I BEAT THE GAME! Yep and I did it with a 53% completion rating . The end boss was completely easy and the ending sequence I got was ok. Any one else beat the game?
