Scuba Diving
I myself am an upcoming scuba diver. I am doing all my bookwork for certification and I have learned the skill of rigging my things up.
Are there any certified divers here? Purpose: I'm going diving with some friends already certified and we want to go somewhere this spring. What are some good spots we could go. I know Christ of the Abyss is suppose to be magnificent, any others? |

I actually took a scuba diving course in college...
The only thing I needed to do to become a 'certified diver' was to go on a trip with the group for 2 days at a lake ( something like that ) Meh... I had better things to do... so... yeah.

I have done my Self Contained Underwater Breathing Aparatus courses, but only cause I was completed my life gaurd training at the age of 12 and technically cant be certified until your 16 so since I was done the course and the school I was in had a seasonal swimming course at the local sports center I got to do SCUBA training. I am a level 4 scuba diver...im able to retrieve things from the water...like sunk boats or cars and such.
Funniest part is, i have never actually done any scuba diving outside of a swimming pool. LOL

if u havent done any diving outside of a pool, that means you're not certified. I've been reading through the manual, and been learning about scuba diving since last year, that makes me pretty sure of my statement in case you have a rebuttle to my remark

like I said, I was 12 years old when I recieved my lifegaurding...so I was 16 when I recieved 4 seperate courses for scuba training. Maybe the rules have changed in the last 7 years....because I am now 23.
However, the place I did my training at had an indoor pool with a pool (tank) designed for scuba training. It was setup much like a lake...Sand on the floor, fake koral, fish and such. I should have cleared that up in my statement. It wasn't so much a swimming pool as it was an indoor lake. Maybe that is why? All I know is that somewhere at my parents house I do have the certificates. Plus A wallet sized thing with the levels. EDIT: I also just found out that they now longer do levels. In order to recieve what I have you just have to take a weekend course after you complete the main scuba training. BAAA to that...took me like 5 months total over 4 years.
