Are you thinking about going to see... Harry Potter...
and the Prisoner of Azkaban? I expect i will see it fairly soon after release. This movie is more grown up with darker themes, the storyline ages along with the actor, so expect a different storyline from the first two inceptions... Harry Potter is growing up, and i expect this will be the first fairly watchable movie of the summer season...

Almost certainly
The third is probably my favorite book - before the books became kind of waffley, and when the characters were developed enough to mean that pages weren't sacrificed to go over things we already knew anyway. It sounds like the film is taking a similar philosophy as well - the new director is apparently dodging the whole "wow isn't hogwarts magical and oh so groovy!" style of the first two and getting down to buisness. Apparently, the kids have even improved their acting. Don't get me wrong - I love the first two (and in many ways prefer them to the snore-fest that LOTR can so often be) but they weren't really that great beyond the stories that they told - without the books as their basis, they were nothing. This third film sounds like they just might change that.

I looked forward to it last fall without knowing it was going to be released this year, so this one may just kinda quietly do very well, of course were talking about a billion dollar industry by itself either way, hehe...

Yeah ! I can't wait, because at heart i am a child and can still get really easily excited about silly small things. Prisoner of Azkaban is my favourite book and I'm really interested in the way the Director has melded an art-film background with Harry Potter.
I've been too ill to yet but hopefully I'll get to go this weekend !

Ooh yeh I'm a huge HP fan, Im going 2moro, Trunks is seeing it as im posting this, I think.
I've read and own all the books, I have the first 2 films on dvd (widescreen edition), although I was a little dissapointed with somethings that were left out of the films, as always with books made into films, Poetic licence an'all, but I'm still looking forward to seeing the 3rd, Though when I heard the director was changing and the new director hadn't read the books b4 he said yes to taking it on, I was a little hesitant and annoyed and was worried he was going to change it too much, But after seeing clips and trailers It seems ok, bit unsure about the whole getting rid of the uniform thing but I'm willing to give it a go. ![]() We'll soon see... yup
I've been a fan of the books for a long time as well, and the darker tone and vision of the Prisoner of Azkaban has definitely got my interest.

Maybe yes, not because I'm a great fan of the series, but for the fun. I didn't like the second movie much though...

Yep, I will. These movies are really relaxing, that's why I like them so much, I like HP books for the same reason. I don't care if people say HP is for young children, I will see the third movie of the series

It cant be any worse than the tripe offered by Van Hellsing and The Day after Tomorrow, and without a doubt there will be a little imagination and downright fun involved, along with some twists.

As with what Hylas said (the films being relaxing), that's why I like them so much too! It's just so pleasant...
I really enjoyed the second film especially laughing at Gilderoy Lockhart. ![]() I read some reviews by others on the AOL entertainment section and people said the film was very different though enjoyable. They say certain parts of the school/castle were changed drastically to the point where the "magical world of HP" was lost. And some didn't like the new Dumbledore (which I would have to agree...not seeing the film yet, the new guy, Michael Gambon, seems really irritating). So, I would like to hear some reviews from the rest of you whenever you guys get a chance to see it. ![]() Another thing: this is just a little something I read on the MSN entertainment section. Daniel Radcliffe apparently isn't going to return to film the fifth movie. They're currently doing the fourth, but sources say that's it after that. That's unfortunate news since I don't think anyone can replace Radcliffe (or the others!), even if his acting is mediocre. Rupert Grint and Emma Watson are pretty good actors and it'd be a shame to see them go if they all leave.

The fourth movie comes out in November of 2005, so even if its the last for him and other actors, its still a long, long ways off, and lets face it, people do grow up eventually, hehe...

Saw the film today, I must say I was a little dissapointed from reading the book, The film didn't compare, It was very well made but it seemed a little rushed and there were bits that were left out that seemed a shame as I was looking forward to seeing them on screen.
I really didn't like them being out of uniform, mainly because I like to think of them living in the magical world that is totally seperate from the muggle world and sortof backdated and seeing them in everyday teenager clothes made it less magical. I heard about Daniel Radcliffe saying he wasn't staying on because he "Didn't want to be type cast".. I say it's a bit late for that! The scenery was nice, and most of the new characters/animals and items were how I pictured them. But I suppose If I seperate it from the book then It was a very enjoyable film. Oh and if Daniel radcliffe does decide to leave then I personally think this guy could probably fill the Harry Potter role if needed... Potter 2 ![]() It's a bit of a young picture but the only one I could find, He's around the same age as Radcliffe I think. Piggle ![]() x x x x

i totally agree with you piggle and i think the reason was because it was a new director so he pretty much switched up the scenery and then the original actor for dumbledore died after the last movie so they switched that around. I really think the first two were the best they were more fairytale like. everything seemed to come directly out of the book and brought to life now it seems as if he tried to take things and make them look normal instead of leaving that inchanting look to them and the biggest thing i hated was the hogwarts grounds they went from flat plains to mountains!!!! what was that !!!! all in all i hope either the old director comes back or this one gets it together because the next movie happens to be my favorite book in the seris so i hav high expectations for it i would be royal peeved if they mess that one up
