further to campbell's click for cans thinger(here) , it seems that online webcomic www.pennyarcade.com has caught the goodwill bug this christmas. Apparently annoyed at the media's attempts to slam gamers and gaming in general (you know the kind of thing: saying that GTA makes everyone imbalanced and likely to go on a killing spree), they're calling on the internet community in general to buy toys for the kids in Seattle Children's Hospital: https://www.penny-arcade.com/childsplay/index.htm

Items in the pictures of the masses of stuff that has already arrived include everything from colouring books, to barbie dolls to gamecubes, dvd players and ps2s! It's quite amazing just how much stuff has been brought... *fights off warm fuzzy feeling*

mind you, given the humour I associate with Penny Arcade, it's almost an appeal coming from strange quarters
