Wouldn't the only accurate way of calculating this be to measure the amount of hours at a time spent on each along with how frequently the game was played within a given time and for how many days, weeks, months it held their interest?
Best Sports Game:
OH MY GOD! Why is Winning Eleven not on this list? Only in the U.S. would they not only forget to include a soccer game, but would totally miss the best one ever made, as well!!!
Best Action Game:
I cant say because I haven't played Max Payne 2 yet.
Best Animation:
Dead or Alive: Extreme Beach Volleyball (Tecmo)
I am no fan of this game but I must admit. They did an impressive job. And, no, I'm not just saying that because of the women!

Auto Modellista (Capcom) Are you kidding me???
F-Zero GX (Nintendo) Can this even be called a "driving" game? There aren't even any cars in it. It's a piloting game
Midnight Club II (Rockstar) Great fun, but way too unrealistic!
The Simpsons: Hit and Run (VU Games)
A driving game this is not. Don't even get me started.

Driver 3 (Atari) This series has probably inspired more bad driving habits than any other! If H.B. Halicki were alive, this would be his favorite game along with Stuntman! I'm probably the only one who'd pick this one, but I don't care! You are the wheelman!!!
