Well, you're going to have to understand that with something as huge as gundam, you'll find nearly every type of genre mixed into it somewhere down the line. SD (super Deformed) Gundam is a childrens style mecha anime. Pretty much the only one of its kind as well. Think of it in terms of Tenchi Muyo to Pretty Sammy OVA, or something else like Cowboy Bebop to Wild West. Same idea, just formatted for a younger audience. It is crap in my opinion, i watched an episode of it and found it stupid as all hell, but don't bash it too bad, like saying that it's a disgrace to Gundam, where in japan, it was a relativly good marketing idea. It's made for kids, as it Pokemon, or Totoro.
