Judging from the shots, the party members seem to alternate, at least the princesses along with Mario and Luigi do. Perhaps it'll be the same for the rest.
I have to admit: The idea of having the ability to choose your own team seems to be half the fun of it, and if you have to have a specific team, then I don't think it'd be the same.
And Berserker is quite right, or at least, I fully agree: The Mario Kart for the SNes was definitely the best. But then again, I think that we can all agree that regardless of graphics and whatnot, some games of today just can't beat the classics of yesterday
.
And what Makg said is awesome! Imagine that: You can rock a house with a tourny of Mario Kart! 16 player mode would be excellent. But alas, 8 is good, as well.
