given that the Strategy Forum here has only ever reguarly featured The Sims and Starcraft Discussion, i'm glad that I've finally found someone here who dislikes The Sims phenomenon!
Though I have played it... its gets old, fast. The Same repeatative actions everyday... and worse - they're the actions that you do everyday yourself! It makes no sense to click a button on the toilet and send a computer sprite to it... Even in this case, its probably more fun to actually get up off your Chair and do it yourself.
I wouldn't mind, if that wasn't all the game was about. If the game had many open-ended opportunities to explore and experiment with their lives - instead of making sure that they get fed on time, and get to the Can to deposit it several hours later.
I suppose it appeals to people with some kind of dolls-house mentality. Its perhaps interesting to send you sim to work so that you can get a new TV... Personally, I just wish that you could earn money and buy money to stop the terrorists planting the bomb. Or Somthing.
As for the GBA Version, I hear that you actually have to "steer" your sim everywhere. That sounds even worse than just clicking on the Khazi. Perhaps there should be some kind of mingame where your Sim has a drinking contest, and the D-Pad is reversed so you have to direct him or her to the toilet (or kitchen sink) so that they can be sick.
