I think a sequel would only be cool if it were a PREQUEL, rather, to Final Fantasy 7. Think about it... "One Winged Angel: The Chronicles of Sephiroth" And have it close, at the part where Sephiroth fought Cloud in the reactor, but add a little spice to the battle.
Or... You could have a sequel, and Nanaki could be the returning character, but really old.
