old favorites Tom Hanks and Jim Carrey get my vote. I believe they are "true" actors, especially Hanks. Too many actors are simply typecast into playing roles: Tom Hanks plays many different roles, convincingly and entertainingly. My Favorite Tom Hanks film would be Forest Gump. It so loveably daft, poigonant and sad. Carrey on the other hand, is perhaps typecast as an idiot. But the Truman Show was such a departure from that route - and so brilliantly executed and filled with emotion and intriugue - that You can really see the diversity that Carrey never really lets on.
As for Actresses... I honestly can't think of a good one. Sigourney Weaver in the Aliens films was Fab, but I haven't seen much of her other work.
