Raiden is not a loser, face it he's the hero of the game, if you're a proper fan of MGS you would accept it was Kojima's choice and his team to put Radien in. He wont be in MGS3 so be happy, well he might, suprises are everything.

If anyone is a loser its Ghost, Neo would kick his ass any day.
