Now, I think I can spend a couple of words on the movie, even if later than others.
There were some good things about this movie, and some bad things too. Magneto/McKellen was the real star IMO. His acting is fabulous as usual. Extraordinary stuff, really. Mystique's scenes are also amazing. They alone make a great movie. Other positive note for Wolverine, who sounds more convincing than in X-Men part 1.
But some other characters... god god... what happened to them?
Storm/Berry acts all the time like a weepy girl who's having some problems with her haircut, Professor X is just pathetic, completely different from the character I liked in the first movie, Rogue is completely lost and almost forgotten, while in reality she's a pretty cool character.
And what about Jean Grey and Cyclops?
Cyclops isn't even there most of the time, and when he is, he acts like a moron, so that you don't know what to think about him. Jean Grey... I've never really liked her in the first place, so I guess we had a sort of improvement here, at least
Still I can't appreciate her much, especially the actress, who looks way too old! Great disappointment for Nightcrawler's character too (no wonder, considering he's mainly interacting with a terrible Storm...).
Again, this movie is worth watching especially for Magneto/Mystique scenes, and some coolness comes from Wolverine too, but, heh, there are many other things that are better to forget...

Thank you, I was looking for it and I thought it got erased until I saw this one :B
I agree a lot in the respects of not having Gambit, Deathstrike's death and the apparition of Phoenix
Indeed, the movies lack of so many things about the comic, but, as Singer said, he was doing something that would suit the CONTEMPORARY world, that, if mutants did exist, this is more the way it would actually happen in reality, which, in the comics, the limits have been pushed too far.
I have learned something about these kind of movies, and it is to ENJOY what the director is giving me, instead of SUFFERING because of what I did not see, that I wanted to see. The story of X-MEN is extremely vast and complex so to keep that many details into movies.
The only movies that actually get quite close to a comic's/book's/anime's details are The Lord of the Rings movies in which Jackson has done an OUTSTANDING job, and even so, many things from the books are still missing, BUT, if people dwells on thedetails that were not there, people is not going to enjoy the movie as much as they could.
Well, anyway, I would really enjoy having Cable in the third movie, and the introduction of Apocalypse or at least some hints about him, and it'd be interesting to see how Mistique would get involved with him and leave Magneto...
And I'm pretty damn sure that Sabretooth is gonna come back, since he is probably Logan's closest tie in his life
I'm not 100% sure, but he is Logan's father, right?
Also it'd be interesting to see how Gambit is gonna get between Rogue and Iceman... that's a part I'm not sure about, where those two ever related in the comic?
