An ideal "bad-guy" would probably be one who would always play with the main character(s) emotions, have a sick sense of humor, have some kind of obsessive motivation for their cause, perform some god-awful and heinous act that would greatly affect the player (something similar to Aerith's death), come from an interesting background, and, above all, look like a complete badass while doing it.
