I don't really think it needs to be said, but I'll say it anyway: This entire thread is "just an opinion."
And as far the 'would you say that about the golf course' thing: I haven't really done a lot of
research on the subject, mostly becuase I don't like golf, or care, but if it's privatly owned, then yeah, I would. They can do whatever they want with their golf course, just like I can do whatever I want with the computer I'm typing away on. Simple because I own it.
And why do you care so much about a store that you've never even been to (or, at least, been to more than once)? Like it was said above, the place is marketed as a family store - just look at the advertisments to figure that one out.

Nor is it your place.
No store is ever going to be exactly how you want it, unless you're the one running it, of course. That's just the way the world turns. Not a lot people can do much about the whole ideal of freedom of choice.
