Back to the Future 1/1/03
Hoping in the hopeless
believing in the unbelievable
putting faith in the inconceivable-
Uncertainty fits like a glove
the situation
but I was always told that it was this anxiety that
told me I was heading in the right direction;
with further inspection I realized the volumes of reality this spoke.
On this journey to discover Destiny, this trek to find ourselves
too many turn back, trying to take comfort in what we believe is true-
But what is truth?... Is it tangible, is it what we can see, hear, smell?
Is it an ideal? Is it just like anything so utopian, possible solely in theory?
Hell if I know.
But hear me out...
If you can’t deal with what’s past, how can you hope to strive for a better future?
Struggle isn’t just for you, it’s a bi-product of all beings;
and to think that it is...
Well, it’s just setting yourself up for extreme disappointment.
Problems aren’t special, we all got ‘em
it’s YOUR perspective that adds to the difficulty,
the strife of it all-
no matter how much reminiscing, the clock is not gonna spin backwards
the world around you will not retrace past axises
the people without and the feelings within will not replay like
some soul song or whatever.
But hear me out...
We should learn from the past, but not dwell there,
life is a dynamic course with too many twists and turns
valleys and peaks
ebbs and tides
for one to speak of.
This is the nature of existence-
don’t try to fake resistance
it don’t matter how much persistence
you use;
you wont gain much distance
don’t say from me you didn’t get assistance
this is a hard way of subsistence
so assume a steady ready stance
and let’s dance-
to this beat of Life.
Keep your head up, take my hand
and let’s dance
to this beat of Life.
