actually, yojimbo works on a "affection" system... ie, the more you insult him by paying him pissy ammounts of gil, the less likely hes gonna do "Zanmato" - the rarest attack in the game, and by extension the most powerful (think Selphie's "The End" attack - instant death to everybody, including the biggest bosses.)
