Sorry, I'm here once again with a dumb question. But I'ìd really like to understand the plot of FFVIII, so if you please can answer this, I'll be glad to know.

In FFVIII, what the powers of Ellone really do? I mean, I know the witch is looking for her because of her great powers and that many aspects of the game (for example Squall "dreaming" of Laguna and Co. is also something caused by Ellone). But in clear words, why are the powers of Ellone so necessary for Ultimecia?
