The point is, there are rules in a democracy. This includes, you got no right to refuse fighting if it is the peoples wish. Me - a longer served soldier - I hate it what Bush is doing now, but I would never judge on a soldier who is serving his duty in Iraq, even if he was asked to do so.
What makes me headache are two things:
You cannot stop people like Satan Husseîn by diplomacy. And if you cut off his head, tree new will grow out of his neck, I mean, there are many guys ready to play his part in advance, his brothers, for example. So it would be not enough sneding a special force there who manage to kill him. In opposite, he would be a marthyr for his people and people came closer together to fight America. So what the hell should we do there? Wait untill he's got the bomb?
... and the secound big point is:
We´re talking about democracy, but, hey, what is it? In America as well as in Germany: The real serious matters are decided in parlament (senat, house of representatives, whatever) and / or
by the president, chancelor, prime minister, whatever, some EXCLUSIVLY.
And now, my US-mates, lemme ask you one question:
Have you all been asked if soldiers should go to Iraq?
Is it wanted by the majority of all US-citizens?
If you can answere by yes,
you live in a democracy,
and really have to follow Mr.Bush as your elected head of state.
IF NOT.....
