Yes we eat turkey, as well as ham.

Lets see if I can do a history lesson here

Our Thanksgiving is always on the second monday of October, meaning its a different calander day each year in most cases. The idea of our thanksgiving is not based on pilgrams but the idea of giving thanks to God or "a god" for giving us the chance to harvest our crops. Since our harvest time is much earlier then most of America our thanksgiving comes earlier. It is celebrated by a national holiday not a religous one. So everyone gets the day off.

So to put it best "Thanksgiving is a general day of thanks and giving to the almighty god for the bountiful harvest with which canada has been blessed.
