Spank-A-Thon is on a distinguished road
For one I'm not convinced about the merits of going to war against Iraq.

Firstly, I'm not convinced that this whole isn't about one thing - oil. Secondly, the Middle-East is already destabilised enough without causing more tension by going to war with Iraq.

I know all about Saddam's use of chemical weapons against his own people, the Kurd's, etc - but that isn't what this war is about. This proposed invasion of Iraq is supposedly in the name of 'The War Against Terror' but both Bush and Blair have yet to prove there are any real links between Iraq and Al Qaeda.

Countless innocents will die, including both Allied soldiers and Iraqi civillians - War is not the answer. However I do agree Saddam needs to be removed.

It was said that during the Gulf War, the British SAS were within spitting distance of Saddam and could have eliminated him - but the order was never given. I have to ask myself why.

If the SAS can get that close to him once, then they can do it again. Instead of going to war - maybe Bush and Blair should think about covert operations to take Saddam out. The result of which should mean no unnecessary deaths for anyone.

As for would I go to fight if war happens? No, I wouldn't be allowed. Due to the nature of the industry I work in (the Nuclear industry) I am classified as an 'essential' worker and therefore by law could not be drafted.

Besides, there's enough people where I live who love nothing more than a good fight on a Saturday night after the clubs have shut - I'm sure they'd be the first in line to get some action.
