The thing is that some people find odd that newbies feel the need to post a "I'm new" thread when they already know they're not going to stay longer, or that they ask "Please, be my friend" if they have no intention to come back. Because some of them are only random visitors, but they think they need to post a whole thread about how nice they are and stuff like that. I don't mind it, but if you think about it, it's weird
I don't think people here, or at least the greatest part of people, thought "Oh god! Another one!". They think it later, when the newbie only checks his/her "Welcome" thread a couple of times and then disappears
Obviously, for those who post in other forums looking for help it's a bit different.
