George Carlin used to be really high up on my list as well, I watched some performance from the late 80's or early 90's that just pushed his normally humorous cynicism too far.

Currently my favorite comedians are Robin Williams and Eddie Izzard. Along with the ever hilarious guys from Monty Python.
