A great way to get cheaper anime is to either get it from Ebay. Like Fortune said, buying it from Hong Kong is usually very cheap, and is still good.
I also have an anime server on a program called Hotline with a buddy so I dub onto tapes from his computer using video-out cables and it works really well.
