I just saw this commercial on the dutch television, really made me smile!

I'm planning to go on a fly&drive holiday through Italy this summer, so I'm bound to find out for myself. Allthough my knowledge of the italian language is minimal... Can you get away with a bit of english or french in most cities??

By the way, whenever you go abroad you almost always can spot all the nationalities just by looking at people and how they behave. Maybe it has something to do that I see so many tourists from all over the world in Amsterdam and you get trained somehow.
Personally my problem is that when I'm abroad people think that because of our language we're german....
