this has happened so many times, but i'm not sure i can think of any examples. i seem to think blur's chemical world was a great example of being really let down by what the lyrics were. i'll have a think!
oh oh oh oh, pda by interpol. me and the ex were ever so let down by it being "you're so cute when you're sedated" instead of "you're so pure..." which we thought it was. there's an example!
