well i'm actually doing this right now. i've compromised some of the things i believe in and was doing to do the job i'm doing now. i used to have pretty long hair.. full beard... and drink constantly and whatever else... but at this job i particularly like a lot... to be successful and get the promotions i desired.. i had to get rid of certain things. i now have short hair... cover up my vulgar tattoo on my arm while i'm at work... and i dont drink anymore.
so i dont know if those are really principals.. but if they are the same as your 'morals'.. well i have none of those... so i adjusted the way i think and live to be successful and now i'm the ass man *assistant manager*.
