What I find strange is that FF8's music always sounded better on the PC or PS1... the actual OST sounded completely different to me. In terms of composition, FF8 was possibly the best (FF7's was rushed because he had a tight schedule - it's nothing amazing, but it had some great tunes. FF6's is a tough one... there are some excellent compositions, but the SNES style sounds are a bit discomforting)... but the version that was on the OST wasn't that good IMO.

It's a shame to see him go... I think the quality of the tunes paralleled just how much I liked the games - Perhaps with Uematsu gone, the FF Magic will go with it? (I'll be the first to admit that the series just doesn't inspire me like it did when I first entered this forum... And i'm not as excited about the FF7 sequels/prequels/movie or FF12 as I probably should be).
