yes i was...i mean lots of people were told they would be sued if they didnt remove the metellica from the shared folder...i however didnt have it in my shared folder...napster has a neat little fuction though that scanned your harddrive for extra info...since i was a nice guy i offered my private collection for download. This made matallllllllllllloca really upset and i recieved a nasty letter in the mail. They informed me that i would be taken to court for downloading their music. But like i said i already owned their music and uploaded to my computer...my cousin then stepped in at this point and looked into everything on a legal stand point. At the time...and even still today Canada didnt have downloading music laws in place as it was not public record. So with that idea the case was removed...i did recieve one more letter after that asking me nicely to remove their music from the shared folder...however by this time napster was dead and the next program had not been released.....of course your asking...how did they get my info...well i gave it to them...when napster told us you were being sued there was an option were you could send your info to them basically telling matalicaiacia that they could stick it where the sun don't shine...

and like i said since then i download freely with no remourse.
