... and not on GBA, as some were anticipating. The only NES/Famicom FF to never have been remade or released outside of Japan will be coming to Nintendo's DS handheld. Just how FFIII will utilise the DS's two screens hasn't been announced, but with a stateside release of the DS unit on the 21st November (Japan gets it on the 2nd of December), Final Fantasy III looks set to finally appear outside of Japan.

The game is a class-based one, similar to FF5 (and remotely similar to X-2 and Tactics), telling the story of 4 young boys who set out to save the world's crystals... afaik ^^
