Redpyramidhead is on a distinguished road
I just saw this the other night with my brother. It was done extremely well and I enjoyed it a lot. Some incredible acting by not only Tom Cruise, but Jamie Foxx, as well. Very convinving on both their parts. I was surprised to see Cruise as a convincing sociopath even though I had seen Vanilla Sky. I suppose this was the next logical step. Great directing job and cinematography for the right mood in almost every situation to give it all kind of a surreal feeling. I guess living half your life driving in LA traffic would be kind of a surreal existence. And finally I wanted to note that the quote unquote message behind the story wasn't altogether original, but delivered powerfully nonetheless. I saw another movie recently where the antagonist asked the protagonist something like "sooner or later you are going to have to ask yourself, are you the kind of person who has nothing left to live for once you have no work or job that drives you or are you somebody who can go on and know new things?" I thought it was cool how this movie expands on the idea. Enjoy any of you who still plan on seeing this. It's an awesome movie.
