Surely thats the fault of the original director and or the author of the book though? I'm pretty certain that the lake was something that only became prominent in the third book, and Hagrid's cabin's proximity to it was only then mentioned. Therefore, it's surely the fault of the guy who directed the first two movies, for not reading ahead and taking account of these things!
