Wow, such a debate over the fanfic forum ! I'm quite excited i get to write a reply. Almost.
Anyway, these things always go wrong and there i was thinking that we'd beaten the problems of jealousy and people feeling left out. Its quite simple really, if you want to be a writer then you're going to have to accept a lot worse criticism than a few people not nominating you in a small vote. Its not the be all and end all of things.
I'm certain I've felt the way you do now in years past, under appreciated and the rest but now I look back and put it all together and its not actually the way it seemed at the time.
I'm sorry you feel that way, but its nothing huge. If anything it should prove inspiring and push towards 'better' writing. I really don't think that there are any better writers as ultimately everything comes down to whether you or cannot. The rest is quite subjective.
