Tokyo Game Show & FFXII
Finally, we'll get to know all about the next offline episode in the Final Fantasy Series. (FFXII, duh!). Come TGS between the 26th and 28th of September.
Rounding up what we actually know about the title, It'll be Offline on the PS2 and released around about March 31st 2004 in Japan. Yasumi Matsuno, (Creator FF Tactics and Vagrant Story) will be producer, and has claimed that he wants the player to wonder whether they're actually playing a FF game. Judging by his previous work, we can expect a rather dark world, full of depth and political intrigue. Hopefully the change will do the series good. (Also, I'm just popping over to another thread to find the FFXII pictures from the recruitment leaflet...) edit: Concept Art FFXII Staff edit 2: I found that these links no longer work. From what I've heard FFXII is sizing up to very worth the wait. At the moment I'm counting FFXI as a gap in the series, with it probally not coming to EU I'm very much in two minds whether to get it for PC.
But knowing XII will be offline has given me a very wet appitiete for it ^_^ Roll on FFXII, and all its offline glory =] |
I've heard that this game will actually have some online features but those will be optional, just to get weird items, or stuff like that, but not meaning that you won't be able to finishi the game without getting online.
I think this game will rock. The only thing I hate about this game, yet, is that the concept art artist just posted is the only thing I've been able to see about it so far :\ |
if its somthing to do with FF Tactics, and Vagrant Story (both titles, i'll admit, are ones that are ever legends or a terrible waste. depends on who you are), I can't wait to see what it'll be like. Those games are fantastic in my opinion, and with new Tech and hell-ass loads of funds for the thing, it should be special.
Perhaps it'll be the big bang that FF on PS2 will end with before we move toward PS3... |
i have much respect for Matsuno's work. This game will go directly into my library come 2004.

2004... hmm... perhaps the US will get a version of it by then, perhaps not. I'd expect a "Christmas 2004" release date initially. Remember that its only March 31st for Japan ^_^

that's true, hopefully it makes it by then.
do you have an idea of who may be working on the music? |
