PC version of FF games

Do you think all, or nearly all, the next Final Fantasy games will be for PC too? I'm especially interested in knowing if Final Fantasy XI, because it's the first coming out next year, will be for PC.

hmm... an intresting question ^_^. It's certain that online FF games will get PC versions: there is a definate market for it, and yes FFXI is 100% confirmed as being on PC also (The Japanese PC beta test started in June). I'm not making FFXI PC packaging for no reason either ^_^

As for Single Player Final Fantasies.... thats gonna be a little different. They released VII and VIII on the PC, and they were pretty below PC standards: no PC owner runs games at 640x480. No one likes painfully badly encoded FMVs (FFVII was most guilty of this, whereas VIII was pretty sucessful: but the FMVs look far more impressive on a TV screen...) and no-one enjoys music played through a PC's Midi card (it sounds nothing like its suposed to, and is awfully crap.). As a side note, I own both of these games, and the one thing that definatly annoys me, is the lack of support and fixes for them (I have to play in software rendering because my Geforce2MX is supposedly unsupported now  )

Consequently there was never a PC version of FFIX (I played the entire game at an excellent detail setting on an emulator instead... until I saw sense and actually brought the console - FMVs look lovely for starters) and there is almost certainly no FFX PC either, though any success of FFXI may make them release that.

The bottom line though, is this: The console versions are usually a far better investment, at least for single player. Multiplayer is what the PC does best however...

and just for the record here are two FFXI shots: (and no im not sure that the PC one is as good as the PS2 one: but it has been resized and is therefore rightly crap)
