Help !

I've decided I want to get a new box set because I don't have any money.
Yes, that's right.

There are plenty of boxed sets I want to get, and for the most part, I'm sure that I really want them and will eventually get them.

But for the time being, I don't know which to pick >.<;
Gundam Wing and Saiyuki are two that interest me.
I know GW is not noted here for greatness, so please give an unbiased opinion, if possible. *or else I'll eat you... :shappy:
As for Sayuki, I know only the first two volumes are out, but the collector's box is too, so I can be adding to it.

I also wanted to see The Big O, as Meryl said it was a good anime. I haven't been able to find it online, though. I tried Amazon, but it doesn't come up -_-

Ack, I don't know ! Any suggestions or recommendations on other anime ?

Preferably, I was looking for mecha-based (or some elements of mecha ), action or Gasp!... romance ! O.o

In Saiyuki there's not much romance, and no mechas at all :shappy: ----> yes, I'm using your fave smilie too! Kill me!

*runs away*

Yeah, I figured as much. But I dunno, for some reason I feel like I wanna watch it, but like I said, I'm not too sure.

I thought I read somewhere that someone had bought it, but I'm not sure who it was *glares at Fortune*.

You actually have to type in "The Big-O" with the dash/hypen in between "Big" and "O". Many people don't realize that it's pretty important to put the dash in, but it actually is. :heh:

Like Fortune said, there isn't romance or mecha in Saiyuki. And I haven't seen the GW series, so I can't help you there. :( The Big-O actually has elements of mecha, action, and romance, so that's a perfect match for what you're looking for, but it's not in a boxset. But there are others...

1) Sakura Taisen TV (Sakura Wars): I actually saw the boxset today, but I have not seen it. I've only seen the OVA 1 and 2 (which were quite good) and there is mecha uses and action, but no romance (and I think the same goes for the TV). Also, the entire cast are female members but they're not annoying (to me) but if that's not appealing, then it's probably best to steer clear.

2) Kare Kano (His and Her Circumstances): I'm sorry, but I forgot if you've seen this? :right: This is pretty good and I think that Fortune enjoyed this series as well. It's only romance, no action or mecha involved and it's a funny, dramatic kind of series. I hope to see more myself, I only saw the first DVD, so I can't really tell you how the plot really deepens, sorry. ^^;;

3) Escaflowne: I'm sure that CC or someone else would provide much more info on this series than I would, but I believe it has mecha, romance, and action in it. The TV boxset is released as well (limited edition) and you can find it at Amazon. Sorry I can't tell you the plot or anything, but it is a really popular series.

4) Fruits Basket: I must apologize for mentioning this series countless times, but this is just...one of the best animes, IMO. There's no boxset, but there's only 4 DVDs...the problem is, they're quite pricey. I bought them for $39.99 but that's because there's 6 episodes in each DVD. The genre is romance/everyday life, so no mecha or action. But, it's a wonderful series that I think you might enjoy. If you do decide to check it out, you must watch the subtitled. The dubbing is terrible and completely ruins the series.

These are the ones I can think of at the moment. I'm sure other can help you out much more (especially regarding mecha) but I hope I helped a little. :)
