Sakaguchi joins "the Dark Side"
Hironobu Sakaguchi, once the (very long time) director of Squaresoft / Square-Enix, and considered to be "the father of Final Fantasy" has announced that his current company, Mistwalker (which apparently has series composer Uematsu at its disposal as well), is to develop two new RPGs for Microsoft's next generation X-Box console.
This obviously comes as a big bonus for Microsoft, whose X-Box console lacked crediability in the Japanese market for the current generation of consoles. Sony (and Nintendo?) will still have Square-Enix... Source |
 kupo, great thread title!
It was a good decision I thought, he already had good contacts within Microsofts Japanese division so that must've been very tempting. I'm still quite surprised though with this news, i mean it came out of nowhere, Microsoft seems to be learning from this gen no doubt, they seriously lack a variety of solid RPGs. |
