Getting a time of 0:0.0 in the chocobo race?

how do u do it? i cant. i've tried and failed miserbly

IcyMourdor Jan 31st, 2002 04:57 PM

Grab everything that reduces time and don't hit anything.

jenova_jeb Jan 31st, 2002 05:02 PM

It's really hard, and will take awhile. Just keep trying until you pull it off.

Sword 4 Hire Jan 31st, 2002 06:55 PM

I dunno, I've never tried but I heard it was hard. To the people who have gotten it is it worth the effort?

jenova_jeb Jan 31st, 2002 08:32 PM

It's definitely worth the effort. The stuff you get is awesome!

DragonSphere Jan 31st, 2002 11:13 PM

Here's what my friend suggested, which actually worked. At the beginning, aim for the second balloon because the trainer always goes for the first and by getting the second, you'll be slightly ahead of her. This also gives you the chance to get all the balloons on that hill, which is pretty much the key to winning. After that, do your best to steer away from the birds, and get as many balloons as possible. With a little effort, you should be able to get 0:0.0 in no time.

Spirit Feb 1st, 2002 02:53 AM

hmmm sounds tough, I never did it my first game.... and my second game of ffx kinda stopped...

Killuminati Feb 1st, 2002 08:34 PM

I did it!

it took almost 3 days of hard playin but i finally did it. i was so pissed yesterday when i ended up with a 0:0.1.
but today i got 0:0.0

The EXACT same thing happened to me! I was so mad! But it only took me about an hour of going over and over to get it.

Sword 4 Hire Feb 2nd, 2002 04:21 PM

Hhmmm, i guess ill give it a go

Reid Feb 3rd, 2002 03:02 AM

Ah, man . . . what a coincidence.
I just started doing this too.
The best I've gotten is 0:5:1.

But, I'm getting Tidus' Ultimate Weapon to try to beat the final boss, but someone told me that it doesn't improve my strength at all, so what does it improve?

jenova_jeb Feb 3rd, 2002 04:35 PM

YES IT DOES! Very much so! My Tidus was doing 1,500,000 in the last few boss battles. You just have to make sure you have everything for the weapon (very easy).

Whoa!!!

I take it that they've taken away the 9999 max amount damage thing which you could only do then!!

jenova_jeb Feb 3rd, 2002 07:17 PM

Well that's the thing. Only the ultimate weapons, and special Summons have the "Damage Break" ability. That's why they're so great to have, and very much worth the effort. ;)

DragonSphere Feb 3rd, 2002 08:04 PM

You must've train Tidus a lot jenova_jeb.
Mine is only doing an average of 40,000.

jenova_jeb Feb 3rd, 2002 08:30 PM

Get the sword with the Double AP ability for Tidus (using the Airship), go to the Omega Ruins, and level up for a couple hours. Your guys will be TOUGH! That's what I did, and it worked perfect. ;)

Killuminati Feb 3rd, 2002 09:00 PM

mine does around 3000. :(

Where can i make him stronger?

i tried Omega Ruins but u dont even get S. Lvs. fast in there

jenova_jeb Feb 3rd, 2002 09:07 PM

You do, but you have to go pretty far into the ruins, so you can meet the tougher monsters. The boss battle in there will give you 7 spere levels if you have the double AP ability, and about 3 or 4 (per guy!!!) if you don't. The monsters right up near the save sphere aren't worth crap though. There's no point in trying to level up with them  .

Killuminati Feb 4th, 2002 07:01 PM

k thanks i was tryin around the Sphere

Sword 4 Hire Feb 5th, 2002 04:57 PM

No offense to the souped up characters but where's the fun in beating the final boss in one hit?!?

jenova_jeb Feb 5th, 2002 08:24 PM

Knowing that you've mastered the game, and that you're powerful enough to do it....

DreamSharpShooter Feb 10th, 2002 12:48 PM

lvling?

if you want to do powerful your guys, go to omega, capture varuna and then pay in trainer center, varuna gives much exp and is so easy to kill with auron's masamune...or kimarhi's spirit lance

DreamSharpShooter Feb 10th, 2002 12:49 PM

almost forgot

what do you get finishing the race with 0:0:00?

jenova_jeb Feb 10th, 2002 01:14 PM

It's been a little while since I've done it, but it's either Tidus' Ultimate Weapon, or one of the Sigil's to power it up.

Sword 4 Hire Feb 10th, 2002 01:27 PM

The sigil, the weopons in the North East in the Calm lands.

Cannibal Clown Feb 10th, 2002 08:02 PM

I've got to get that game! It seems soo cool!

The only chocobo racing I've ever done was the original Chocobo Racing on the PS1. It's a cute game. Fun if you're really bored.

But don't you have to race in order to get the guy to leave so you can gain access to the area?

DreamSharpShooter Feb 11th, 2002 05:26 PM

mm...

in which zone, exactly i s the weapon?...

Sword 4 Hire Feb 11th, 2002 05:52 PM

Well yeah first you need to race so the guard leaves his post, and then you go to the North West (sorry if i said east) and go right to the edge and look for a little path leading into the gorge, use the celestial mirror and its yours.

DreamSharpShooter Feb 11th, 2002 10:12 PM

mmmm i have a question

Have you used the key item witered bouquet? that thing that say in the menu "someone put heart and soul in this"
anyone have used it?

DragonSphere Feb 11th, 2002 10:14 PM

I thought it was used when Tidus started that fire during the beginning of the game.

DreamSharpShooter Feb 11th, 2002 10:19 PM

is there when you get it.....but you use it?

DragonSphere Feb 11th, 2002 10:26 PM

Ya, I'm pretty sure he used it.

jenova_jeb Feb 12th, 2002 08:03 AM

Yeah, he used it for kindling the fire.

DreamSharpShooter Feb 12th, 2002 04:48 PM

ohhh

you are right
i forgot that.....thanks people
