Mods??

I was just wondering, What does it take to be a mod on this site?

Carlito Jul 16th, 2002 10:21 AM

You must be a reliable member, not a spammer, you must demonstrate you're not an occasional visitor (obviously), so this basically means you have to be a senior member (senior not considering the number of posts, but the time spent on the forum). You must also demonstrate you know how a forum works (imagine a mod who can't even say how to post a link...). and many other elements that are possbile to notice after a certain amount of posts and time.

BTW, at the moment we're not looking for new mods.

Beretta55 Jul 16th, 2002 12:27 PM

cool being a mod but even if i was asked i wouldnt take it and we are doing good with the mod's we have now.

kamari-ice Jul 16th, 2002 01:00 PM

Man, the mods we got now are good.
It would be nice to have more.
Carlito, is like the mods of all mods, he is always around, ever since I came here, back in 01.

AudioBoxer Jul 16th, 2002 04:28 PM

yeah ok I was just wondering. How many posts is a senior in here??

Beretta55 Jul 16th, 2002 09:41 PM

100

AudioBoxer Jul 16th, 2002 10:09 PM

Infernal Mass Jul 17th, 2002 01:53 AM

you must sell your soul to become a mod.

forget that then.

Rei Jul 17th, 2002 02:34 AM

Oh well, he said it's not only the number of posts that we consider for "Senior member". So don't look at your status saying "oh wow! I'm Senior!" because it doesn't really count. :D

Infernal Mass Jul 17th, 2002 02:39 AM

what are the prerequisites of becoming a senior member? I'm thinking Chimchanga Su'preme is pretty close..although i still feel like i have a ways to go though. XD

IcyMourdor Jul 17th, 2002 10:08 AM

I'd say being a member of about 6 months or so. Then you are a forum vet. All the staff have been part of the forums for over six months now. We don't need anymore staff, as we haven't had a bad rush of newbs join the forums.

RobHardo Jul 17th, 2002 11:18 AM

ye i asked the same qustion bro, just no in a thread i PM'd some one about it, they said they didn;t need any help at the time

Infernal Mass Jul 18th, 2002 10:48 AM

the mods here do a more than adaquate job eliminating everything that even remotely smells like flame bait,spam..etc.

kamari-ice Jul 18th, 2002 03:49 PM

Another thing about becoming a MOD!

You have to be 18 yrs of age or older.
Don't Spam, no rudeness to others, help each other at all times, welcome people, and a senior member.
Why I know this you ask?
I asked before, back when I was young, 1 year ago.
And I kept bothering people asking why I can't become a MOD.
Then someone finally answered and said,
Quote:

You are not old enough to become a MOD. Mods can only be the age 18 or older. They can take care of the forum more!
Well I shut up after that, and never asked again.
I just kept waiting for that age to become one.

Hadoken Jul 18th, 2002 05:35 PM

ughh, i'd never be a mod. even if someone asked me to. just dont have time to read through each and every post.

AudioBoxer Jul 18th, 2002 08:55 PM

yeah I wouldnt care to be a mod plus I am 20 so I fit that age, right now I dont want to anyways I just wanna chill and post plus have fun on the site.

Black Heart Jul 19th, 2002 12:27 AM

I think they clearly said they're not looking for new mods, so why keeping on discussing about it?

Gadzoox Jul 19th, 2002 12:36 AM

Because they can.

Hylas Jul 19th, 2002 03:07 AM

I don't think they'll ever pick mods only because you ask to become one. I think they choose really carefully considering the uhmmm... "style of your threads", the general level of knowledge you have of this forum and such things if you can be mod or not.

kamari-ice Jul 19th, 2002 11:50 AM

I don't care either way, I would be happy to do both.
